On Saturday February 3, 2018, UNDP launched the 3rd edition of the National Cancer Treatment in collaboration with the President’s Office at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and Global Compact Network Lebanon (GCNL).
The UNDP project “Transfer of Knowledge through Expatriate Nationals” TOKTEN objective is to enhance Lebanon’s development through the transfer of knowledge of successful expatriates. The project provides technical assistance to ministries and public institutions through short-term missions or assignments accomplished by successful expatriates. Expatriates professionals ,through TOKTEN initiatives, tackle the country’s “Brain-Drain” aspects; on a voluntary basis, through a short period of time, and throughout the years, highly skilled expatriates professionals offered main advantages, meeting the apparent need for training in various Lebanese public sectors.

This year, the National committee is headed by the American University of Beirut President, Dr. Fadlo Khuri, who throughout the years confirms utmost expertise and commitment to TOKTEN. The committee includes renowned oncologists, from the National and International committee, including Dr. Jean Pierre Issa, Dr. Taofeek Owonikoko, and Dr. Robert Haddad among a lot of others. It is equally important to highlight key roles played by members  of the national committee in elaborating evidence-based protocols, among the members are Dr. Marwan Ghosn, Dr. Nizar Bitar and Dr. Ghazi Nsouli.
